"Gingham Mural"
This mural was created in collaboration with the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, Local Color of San Jose, and San Jose Downtown Association, and Veggilution. The call was for a mural combining cultural and textile imagery, and I came up with a piece inspired by a gingham plaid tablecloth piece representing my midwestern cultural upbringing.

There are few things that bring me back to my youth and growing up in the midwest as much as the backyard barbecue. Inspired by my mother's party tablecloths, this mural is a zoomed in version that is meant to conjure up sounds of playing children, laughing parents, and smells of sugary bbq sauce over grilled meat.
